Nurse Practitioner Dermatology Externship Program at World’s Famous Dermatologist ®
Are you a Nurse Practitioner (NP) student looking to expand your expertise in dermatology? World’s Famous Dermatologist ®, led by Dr. David Bryant, is proud to offer an immersive externship program designed for NP students who are passionate about pursuing a career in dermatology.
Program Overview:
Our externship provides hands-on experience with an emphasis on building fundamental dermatological skills. You will work closely with our highly experienced dermatology team to gain insight into both the clinical and cosmetic aspects of dermatology.
Key Benefits of the Externship:
- Direct Mentorship: Work alongside Dr. Bryant and our expert team of dermatology professionals.
- Clinical Experience: Participate in patient consultations, diagnostic techniques, and dermatological procedures while working with patients from a variety of backgrounds and skin types, with most of the patient base having black skin (Fitzpatrick Type IV-VI).
- Personal Skill Development: Enhance your skills in dermatologic exams, biopsy techniques, and the management of common skin conditions such as eczema, acne, psoriasis, and skin cancer.
- Cosmetic Dermatology Exposure: Gain experience in cutting-edge cosmetic treatments, including injectables, lasers, and other aesthetic procedures.
- Career Advancement: The program is designed to prepare you for your future role as a Dermatology Nurse Practitioner, positioning you for potential opportunities in our practice or beyond.
Program Eligibility:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (MSN or DNP) and nearing graduation.
- Program must allow a minimum of 180 clinical hours.
- Demonstrated interest in dermatology and patient-centered care.
- Enthusiasm for learning and a commitment to developing your dermatology knowledge and skills.
Application Process:
Interested NP students should submit their resume, letter of intent, and academic transcripts. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Selected students will have the opportunity to meet with Dr. Bryant and our leadership team for an interview to discuss goals and expectations.
