This service category is very important for medium-range and long-term control and reduction of recurring skin problems. It's very nice to use things at home and have procedures done under Service Category that help a patient guest look and feel better, but it is far nicer still to understand diagnostically what has insulted the skin to slow down or stop the problem.
Biopsy Analysis
Our providers can test the skin by taking a small skin biopsy, and having it analyzed under a microscope by a dermatopathologist. The pathology lab will analyze for bacteria, fungus, yeast, or viral infection, while examining the architecture of the skin for the cause of the skin condition like inflammation or skin cancer.
Environmental Allergy Test
The staff at World’s Famous Dermatologist can also use a topical application of extract oil to screen for risk factors related to Georgia’s environment. We test for over 72 antigens including pets, dust, plants, trees, grasses, infectious organisms, dietary food groups, and environmental insects. If you test positive to any of these environmental risks contributing to your skin disease, we can work toward desensitizing the patient to certain allergies with immunotherapy, promoting fewer challenges with abnormal skin and better control.
Food Sensitivity Testing
When patients are experiencing a rash or breakout, we recommend a blood test to screen for food sensitivities and allergies. The blood test analyzes for antibodies and complement proteins in the blood, which indicate a marker for delayed hypersensitivity to certain foods causing a skin reaction. The test examines over 100 foods commonly ingested. The patient receives a very detailed report that indicates the level of tolerance, what foods to reduce, what foods to eliminate, and what foods are well tolerated. Our guests can often expect improvement in their skin and overall wellness after making the right dietary adjustments.
